The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.

We have a permanent, full-time opportunity available to join our Community and Whānau Wellbeing team as a **Team Leader - Kauika Pumau**. As a community facing team working mainly with and for whānau Māori, the Kauika Pūmau team comprises Safe Sleep, Tuai Kōpu - Wāhine Hapū Wellbeing programme, Mate Taiha - Tāne Māori with Gout and Oranga Tonutanga bowel screening outreach programmes. The Team Leader will be responsible for the day to day leadership, operational management and planning for the Kauika Pūmau team in order to deliver high quality, culturally responsive and equitable services to Māori.

**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- Relevant tertiary qualification or 10-15 years of comparable work experienc
- Experience in community and stakeholder engagement
- Role model, with high degree of maturity, stability and self-confidence
- Previous experience in staff management
- Experience in leading or being part of delivering Māori targeted programmes.
- Experience in developing and facilitating training and education
- Experience developing new processes and procedures
- Monitoring programme performance and outcomes
- A personal commitment to and evidence of on-going professional development and continuous quality improvement.
