Our Wellington office is currently seeking a Civil / Transport Engineer to become an integral member of our Central Transport team.

**Key responsibilities will include**:

- Design of civil and transportation projects: urban and rural roads; land development; and associated facilities to Waka Kotahi, Local Authority and other client standards
- Detailed design and drafting using Civil 3D, Excel, Word, or other similar design packages
- Producing bill of quantities and cost estimates to GHD and project standards
- Assistance with the preparation of technical reports, tender documentation and technical specifications
- Technical reviews and quality assurance of other staff members’ design and drafting outputs using GHD QA procedures as required
- Organising, checking and processing survey data received and merging into associated design packages
- Importing/exporting data between software packages in different file formats
- Site observation during the construction phase of roading and civil projects
- Quality Assurance - Preparation of high quality outputs, correspondence and other deliverables
- Design management of multi-disciplined project teams to deliver civil and transportation projects
- Coordination of design work with other disciplines in GHD
- Liaison with service authorities
- Assist with the preparing technical reports and tender documents for projects

**What you will bring to the team**:

- Tertiary qualified with minimum 2 years’ experience in transportation related projects
- Understanding of other Civil Engineering sectors, particularly around transportation / civil related projects and/or consulting environment
- Sound working knowledge and use of AutoCAD and Civil 3D and methods for continually improving efficiencies.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Organised in multitasking of self and others and able to meet deadlines
- Ability to be proactive and take ownership of small to medium project
