We are looking to create an environment that fosters strong process safety culture and the opportunity to really shape the future of our business.In this fantastic Regional Process Safety Engineer role, you will be responsible for modelling best practice, and developing and leading process safety culture across our Upper North Island sites (Kauri, Maungaturoto, Te Rapa, Te Awamutu and Waitoa).The main purpose of this role is to provide technical process safety support across sites and project teams with responsibilities for Regulatory, Statutory, Major and Non-Major hazardous facilities through Asset Lifecycle Management of sites assets and associated systems.
- **Reporting to Regional Engineering & Capital Project Manager, your key responsibilities include**:

- Providing leadership and oversite during the implementation and ongoing management of process safety across the 14 elements
- Project and program management and technical direction to ensure successful delivery of the PSM elements at manufacturing sites including both capital and major maintenance
- Working closely with Site Managers, Senior Ops, Engineering, and Business Leadership within the regions to maintain the PSM journey through a program alongside an audit and review process
- Supporting UNI sites and project teams with risk assessment and risk management
- Providing process safety support for capital projects including front end engineering (Feed) and design support
- Providing coaching to build process safety understanding and competency across the wider site
- Maintaining process safety knowledge by interfacing with external process safety organizations
- Managing sites process safety KPIs for continuous improvements.

Please note that the role will require travel across the Upper North Island region and ideally the incumbent will be based in the Waikato or Northland
- **About you**

This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Process Safety Engineer or Mechanical Engineer who has had exposure to projects with hazardous chemicals and is looking to progress their career forward in process safety management.We are looking for a natural communicator and leader with good engineering knowledge and the ability to manage complex programs of work. Your ability to develop trust and foster change, manage technical problems and drive for continuous improvement will be key and steer you in the right direction. With a background in Engineering & your knowledge of our manufacturing sites will allow you to ensure our process safety requirements are sustainable and efficient.In addition, you will have:
- Qualification in Chemical, Process, Electrical or Mechanical engineering or equivalent work experience
- Experience in a complex manufacturing environment, managing process safety in operational and project environments
- Excellent communication skills and ability to gel with stakeholders at all levels
- Passion for safety and a willingness to get stuck in and support where required.
