As the Senior Advisor Assurance, you will support the Head of Internal Assurance to provide assurance over the design and operating effectiveness of MBIE’s Risk, Policy and Compliance frameworks by undertaking delivery of internal assurance reviews ensuring they are risk based, create value and insights, provides appropriate levels of assurance to our stakeholders, and provide balanced and pragmatic views.

You will be part of the Internal Assurance team that is focused on uplifting assurance capabilities across MBIE and delivering assurance activities that are valued and make a difference. Your day will consist of assisting with planning, fieldwork and report writing for a variety of reviews and reporting. Given the scope of work that MBIE undertakes, each review is different and you will always be learning.

This is a great opportunity where you will work closely with the Principal Advisor on each engagement and will receive coaching and guidance, as well as having the opportunity to progress your own skills. You will have a plan in place to develop the necessary skills to move into a Principal Advisor role.

- Demonstrated ability to quickly assimilate new information or areas of work and come to an understanding of unfamiliar or complex concepts and environments
- Proven experience in roles requiring collation of information, identifying risk and controls gaps and evidence-based report writing
- Sound analytical and critical thinking skills. Curious about why
- Sound writing skills
- Pays attention to detail but also sees the big picture
- Qualification in commerce, law, or other related discipline preferred
- Must have legal right to live and work in NZ
