We have a wonderful opportunity for Registered Midwives to join our team alongside Lead Maternity Care midwives, committed to facilitating birthing in the community.

Canterbury is fortunate to currently have three community units, with another (Kurawaka Waipapa), underway. In May last year Oromairaki replaced Lincoln Maternity Unit and is a contemporary new birthing unit within the Selwyn Health Hub (Toka Hap**āi) located**in Rolleston. It is now a well-established 10-bed unit and been embraced by the local community.

This role requires the following:

- Registered Midwife with a current NZ practicing certificate
- Able to practise autonomously in the community including confidence with obstetric and neonatal emergencies and ability to cannulate. *Support is provided for those working towards gaining confidence.
- A passion for primary birthing and supporting women to initiate breastfeeding
- A commitment to equity and our responsibilities under Te Tiriti o Waitangi within maternity services
- The ability to be adaptable, flexible and solution focused
