The High Impact Innovation Programme is a cross sector initiative to reduce harm in the criminal justice system. It is led by Corrections who work closely with Police, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Social Development, Oranga Tamariki, Public Defence Service and several Non-Government Organisations.
The Programme operates initiatives and innovates within existing legislation and policy settings. It identifies potential innovations with sector specialists, academics and operational experts and then pilots those ideas, measures and evaluates them and expands them where the innovation proves to be effective.
Mō te tūnga | About the role
The Graphic Designer is responsible for providing advice, design, and coordinating HIIP visual material including corporate collateral, internal communications, and other design activities. This role, while embedded with the HIIP Change & Design Team, is specifically intended to focus on the design and creative outputs for the whole HIIP function (Projects and Operations).
**The role accountabilities include, but are not limited to**:
- The creation, completion and production of graphic design works (digital and print) based on HIIP and stakeholder requirements
- Work across a wide range of media, e.g. print, web, animation, photography and video editing;

- Strong oral communications and interpersonal skills.
- Can expertly use relevant software and technology to its full capacity e.g. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe CC Suite (mainly InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop with some ability to use video editing software like Premier Pro and After Effects).
- Able to analytically look at design work from the point of view of the audience or stakeholder to ensure it conveys the audience/stakeholders(s) desired message.
- Creative and artistic ability to create work that is interesting and unique and follows a new approach of communicating an idea whilst meeting the client's expectations.
Utu ā-tau | Salary
Salary band for this role is set between $69,811 - $98,556 with appointment and remuneration reflective of skills and experience relevant to the role.
