We’re looking for a Senior Data Excellence Analyst to join our Analytics & Insights team here in Aotearoa reporting to our Chapter Lead Data Excellence.
The Senior Data Excellence Analyst is responsible for leading the development of data excellence
practices and data cataloging to successfully maintain and support data standards, data quality, PII,
data policies, master data, and leverage best in class data management practices.
The role works alongside a wide range of business stakeholders including technology and analytics
professionals to understand business priorities as well as design and embed pragmatic solutions
that support good data management practices in line with our data principles. You will provide
guidance and mentorship to data excellence analysts, assisting with complex data analysis tasks
and problem-solving.**About the Role | Mō te Tūranga
Key responsibilities will see you
- Support embedding of analytics products and drive self-service usage
- Partner and collaborate with data engineers, data domain owners and analytics
professionals in the data solution design to ensure data principles are being applied.
- Contribute to data architecture and data engineering standards and reference architecture
- Undertake data lineage and data quality analysis in support of part technical requirements
gathering process
- Determine the non functional requirements for data and its management as part of the
solution design.
- Ensure data is created and maintained in accordance with organisation policies and
standards and data
- Being an ambassador for a “data quality” culture that treats data as a strategic asset
- Contribute to the designing and documenting data solutions in agreed tool sets i.e.
Confluence
- Embed the standardised tools / analytics as part of business decision making and inspire
to enable the business to make better and more informed decisions using clear data
definitions
**About You | Mōu
To succeed in this role you will need to be a confident communicator with a blend of strong technical skills and stakeholder management expertise.
Specifically, we are looking for
- Solid understanding of data governance principles and practices
- Familiar with JIRA, Confluence and Project Management tools
- Hands-on experience with data management tools such as Collibra and Ataccama
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work on complex data analysis tasks
- Experience bringing together diverse stakeholders to along in the journey to drive and
deliver data quality management outcomes
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to
both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong Agile maturity - understanding the principles
- Ability to think creatively and critically and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and sometimes
ambiguous work environment
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate effectively in a team environment
