Kōrero mō te Tūranga - About the Role
The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) manages an incredibly diverse, New Zealand-wide property & asset network which comprises a mix of institutional and services facilities, administration, and auxiliary infrastructure. This newly created role reports to and supports the Director, Property and Assets, through provision of strategic advice and guidance on any property/asset management, operational or Ministry issues, as well as documentation and reporting for governance purposes. Effectively, the Senior Property Adviser will act as the “go to” person in responding to asset issues and facilitating demand. Representing the Director, Property and Assets, the Senior Property Adviser will engage with customers, ensuring high levels of service and build a network of trusted relationships across the Ministry.
This role would suit a versatile property & asset management professional who enjoys problem solving and working in an agile way in an environment where no two days are the same.

Mō tō mātou Rōpū - About the Team
MPI's Property and Assets team, which consists of 20+ people, has several functions: leasing; property-related project management; facilities management; change management; and fleet management, all with administrative support. Kirit Parbhu leads this team as its Director. Kirit has over 25 years of commercial property and project experience, specialising in Government property. He has experience in corporate real estate and led significant projects in tenant advocacy, property strategy development and transaction facilitation. This team is vibrant, diverse in their thinking and very collaborative in their problem solving. You'll be well supported in this role by a team of willing experts with a wealth of experience.

What you will bring to the role
- Superior collaboration and stakeholder management skills
- High degree of proactivity, able to take ownership of tasks and use initiative to resolve them
- Some experience working in a similar, large corporate environment
- Sound Project Management knowledge and experience across a variety of property projects
- Strong research, analytical and report writing skills
- A tertiary qualification in property, business, or similar relevant discipline

Mōu - About You
You could come from either the private or public sector in a senior role, or you're at intermediate level looking to step up to a senior role. Likely you started your career in property and have since moved into an advisory role involving strategy, or governance.. Ideally, you have a blend commercial acumen and an understanding of how navigate through the authorisation environment.
