Steel Fixers

We are seeing two Steel Fixersin Waikato, travel or relocation may be required to the Bay Of Plenty, Manawatu-Whanganui, Canterbury & Southland Regions due to the nature of this role and projects of the business.

The main objective of this role is to assist in production of steel reinforcement to produce high quality concrete products, efficiently and safely.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Accurately interpret and read drawings to schedules
- Measuring, cutting, moulding, installation of wire mesh into concrete areas to be steel mesh-reinforced
- Installing mesh and reinforcing steel
- Setup precast moulds as per the Standard Operating Procedure. Be able to use hand tools and equipment
- Placement of reo cages into the mould. Use concrete skip in pouring concrete into the mould.
- Dismantle moulds after concrete has cured. Strip, ramp and mark product based on production specifications.
- Operate reinforcing machine and understand specifications
- Strip and mark product based on production drawing
- Mould set up, mould assembly, reinforcement assembly, casting of concrete, concrete pouring, formwork stripping, cleaning, finishing works and any other task required to safely manufacture products as and when required.
- Placement of concrete into moulds as and when required.
- Follow all health and safety requirements
- Ensure production schedule is adhered to, to ensure achievement of the production plan.

**Key Requirements**
- Minimum 2 years previous relevant steel fixing experience essential
- Experience in a precast manufacturing environment beneficial
- Skilled in reading and interpreting drawings
- Technically able to understand how different products work together to form solutions
- Class 1, F OSH endorsement an advantage
- Gantry crane skills an advantage (ticket 3800)
- Ability to undertake manual handling tasks
- Accurate time keeping with the ability to work to deadlines
