**Hourly Rate**: $30.00 - $33.00

**About the Role**:
We are seeking an experienced **Duty Manager / Tumu** to lead our Food & Beverage team at the Dark Sky Project. In this role, you will ensure exceptional service to our manuhiri (visitors) while managing stock, supply, and team performance. You'll work closely with the Head of F&B to uphold our high standards and hospitality rooted in Ngāi Tahu values.

**Key Tasks and Responsibilities**:

- Lead, mentor, and manage the F&B team to deliver outstanding service.
- Oversee stock management, ordering, and inventory control.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and uphold sustainability practices.
- Implement and monitor staff training, recruitment, induction, and performance reviews.
- Drive the team to contribute to ecological sustainability by reducing waste.
- Promote the Tiaki Promise, involving manuhiri in caring for Aotearoa.
- Foster a welcoming environment, ensuring manuhiri and staff are treated like whānau.
- Ensure team familiarity with procedures, policies, and safety measures.

**Location**: Based in Lake Tekapo, Mackenzie District, this role may require some travel between local sites as needed.

**Minimum Guaranteed Hours**:
A minimum of 32 hours per week is guaranteed, with flexibility for additional hours based on operational needs.

**Skills and Experience Required**:

- NZ Diploma in Hospitality Management or equivalent qualification, ideally focused on restaurant or café operations; or at least three years of relevant experience in place of formal qualifications.
- Proven leadership experience in managing front-of-house staff and operations.
- Familiarity with stock control and sustainability practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both in managing staff and engaging with customers.
- Ability to work weekends and public holidays when required.
