**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.

We have an exciting permanent opportunity for **Kaihāpai Oranga **serving the **Hauraki** and **Tūrangi** communities. The purpose of these roles based within the community is to support the regional public health service in Te Manawa Taki and Hauora Māori Tūmatanui and to build sustainable, long-term partnerships with a range of iwi, Māori and community groups. You'll be dedicated to seeing communities thrive and will partner with them to deliver initiatives that realise Pae Ora.

**Mōu | About you**

You will foster meaningful connections, enhance workforce capabilities and be a champion for Te Tiriti and equity. You will work with colleagues in the regional public health service and Hauora Māori Tūmatanui to mobilise NPHS skills and resources for community initiatives that achieve Pae Ora. You will support our Community and Whānau Wellbeing and Health Protection teams to improve promotion, prevention and protection service delivery with iwi, hapū and Māori communities. You will be actively involved in collaboration with communities and initiative delivery. - Passion for Te Reo Māori and/or a willingness to develop skills in this
- Passion for local tikanga, history and stories and/or a willingness to develop this
- Lived experience or significant experience working alongside priority population and communities (eg: tāngata whaikaha, whānau with experience in the Justice System, rural communities, transitional housing, LGBTQIA+)
- Established relationship with iwi and hapū in the area you will be working
- Basic technology skills and a willingness to learn new systems
- Understand how to bring practically advance Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- A creative flair and ability to think outside the box
