**Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role**:
'We are seeking to employ a 1.0FTE fixed-term Academic Staff Member in 2025, starting on 3 February for 12 month. Suitable applicants will need to be qualified and ideally have experience teaching English as an Additional Language at a variety of levels, including EAP or second language literacy and numeracy. You will also be required to develop materials and be able to carry out assessment and moderation work.
The appointing salary for this role will be between $74,400 and $80,000 dependent on skills and experience
The Academic Staff member and Academic Staff Members is based in our (Centre for Languages) | you will be:
- Teaching contextualised EAL involve creating a positive and supportive learning environment.
- You will need to be qualified and ideally have experience teaching English as an additional Language at a variety of levels
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices.
- You will also be required to develop materials and be able to carry out assessment and moderation work
**He kōrero mōu| About you**:
- You will need appropriate language teaching qualifications, preferably at Postgraduate level, and relevant extensive experience in teaching EAL and/or Literacy and Numeracy
- Enjoy working and contributing to a team environment and an active interest in learning new skills
- Proven effective teaching strategies that promote learning, with a particular awareness of a holistic approach to student-centred teaching.
