About the Role (your why)
As a Quality Assurance (QA) Practice Lead in our Smartly team, you will be responsible for leading, manging and developing a team of QA Testers, along with contributing to the overall growth of the QA practice.

You will also support, lead and coach one of our cross functional product squads with the goal of creating and maintaining a high performing self-managing team.

What you’ll do
- Guiding, supporting, and mentoring a team of six to twelve QA testers to ensure both high-quality work and professional development.
- Leading and coordinating an Agile product squad, including facilitation of Agile ceremonies when necessary.
- Ensuring effective communication and alignment across product by collaborating with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developer Practice Leads, and product squads to achieve superior customer outcomes.
- Developing metrics to measure quality throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and consistently reporting on findings.
- Providing additional testing assistance where needed.
- Collaborating with other Practice Leads in the business to identify areas for improvement, share ideas, and establish processes and practices that enhance collaboration within the broader team and elevate product quality.
- Regularly updating stakeholders, including senior management, on testing progress, metrics, and key performance indicators.

- Proven involvement in constructing or contributing to successful agile teams.
- Extensive background in quality assurance and people management, showcasing a solid understanding of principles and practices.
- Excellent communication skills, emphasising the creation of cohesive, collaborative, high-performing, and productive virtual teams.
- Experience with SQL.
- Demonstrated ability to drive positive change across diverse cross-functional product delivery teams.
- Experience in mentoring and coaching peers.
- Skilled in fostering strong collaboration between product and development teams.
- Experience in advocating software quality.
- Your passion for QA practices and technologies is an asset that can benefit our entire engineering team.
- Openness to giving and receiving feedback is a cornerstone of your approach in ensuring a safe and inclusive work environment.
