You will be part of our senior leadership team here at Hospice Whanganui, and responsible for leading our frontline teams to deliver excellent, whānau-centred palliative care.

What we offer:

- A senior and strategic leadership opportunity that will help shape the future of Hospice care.
- Meaningful work that makes a real and lasting difference in people's lives in our rohe.
- A competitive remuneration package.

**Ko wai mātou | About us**

We are an engaging and vibrant group of people who are passionate about providing exceptional palliative care in our community. We believe that everyone should have equal access to specialist palliative care in the place they choose to be. This means that, while we have a small in-patient facility, most of our services are provided in the community, in patients' homes and in partnership with their whānau (families).

Our philosophy is to work in a truly holistic and integrated way to meet the total needs of our patients and their whānau and to support them to live the best life they can with the time they have left.

Our team consists of medical officers, nurse practitioner, registered nurses, social work/whānau support staff, health care assistants, and clinical support staff who work closely together and respect each other's input equally.

We also work side by side with many other providers across our community, including General Practice teams, Māori health providers, home-care providers, residential aged care facilities, St John's ambulance, and the hospital-based teams.

We are committed to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and to play our part in ensuring that our diverse communities, in particular Māori, Pacific, disabled, rural and other marginalized groups in our communities receive high-quality, timely and equitable care when they need it.

**Mō te tūnga | About the role**

The Integrated Services Director is a new role with plenty of scope to shape the direction of this position. At its heart, this is a senior and strategic role dedicated to providing excellent, values-based leadership to our vibrant and dynamic frontline and clinical teams. This includes nursing, whānau/family support, healthcare assistants and medical teams. Each of these have their own Team Leader/Manager leading their respective teams at an operational level.

Overall, the team that you will lead consists of anywhere between 20-30 staff working either full-time or part-time hours. You will support the team leaders to build high-performing, united teams and you will work with the wider leadership team to develop initiatives that will deliver on our strategic goals.

This is a key role within the organization, and you will be joining a supportive, united and aspirational leadership team that is focused on relentless excellence for our community.

**This is a** **40 hour per week role worked over 5 days - Monday to Friday.**

**Mōu | About you**

This role would suit an experienced or emerging senior leader in the health, allied services, or social sector space. You will be someone who brings curiosity and initiative to your work and someone who is not afraid of asking the hard questions or respectfully challenging the status quo.

We are looking for someone passionate about driving excellence and innovation with the team, who believes in the importance of teamwork, unity, and partnership with others, who can flexibly adjust to change and lead teams through change in a calm but courageous manner.

You will be committed to living out the values of Hospice Whanganui in all that you do. These values are:

- We Do the Right Thing
- We are Stronger Together
- We Always Strive for the Best
