We have a great opportunity for a Kaitohu Matua (Senior Advisor) who has energy, initiative and is ready to step into a role to lead and support policy advice on the achievement of wellbeing and development outcomes for wh nau, hapu, iwi, M ori organisations, and communities within the Tamaki Makaurau (Auckland) region

**Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The opportunity**

As Kaitohu Matua (Senior Advisor) you will champion wh nau led solutions that will enable better outcomes for M ori and will work alongside the Tamaki Makaurau region by:

- Supporting the region to deliver on the work programme
- Supporting the Regional Director and Team Leader to build a strong presence for Te Puni Kokiri in the region to support the implementation of Government policies
- Provide mentoring and coaching to Advisors within the region
- Manage the flow of information between M ori and the Policy puni for programme evaluation\Manage local level provider contracts including reporting and funding approvals

**Ko wai koe | About you**

To be successful in this role you:

- Have experience working in policy.
- Have experience working with wh nau, hapu, iwi, M ori organisations and communities.
- Have a high level of understanding of the Machinery of Government, public service and public sector processes.
- Understand the rationale and mechanisms of government intervention i.e. reasons for government intervention, the available intervention mechanisms and alternatives to government interventions.
- Commercial experience with keen analytical skills and the ability to identify and support possible growth opportunities.
- Ability to identify, build and actively manage significant relationships, valuing diverse perspectives and experiences.
- Are comfortable working in a te ao M ori environment and are comfortable in a kaupapa M ori environment.
- Have a broad understanding of The Treaty of Waitangi and Te Tiriti o Waitangi and recognise the importance of the Treaty from both M ori and Crown perspectives.
- A level of competency in te reo M ori, or a willingness to learn.
- Clean full drivers licence.
