System Design Manager, Infant, Child and Youth
2 weeks ago
**Contribute to transforming the future of health**:
- **Bring your experience in infant, child and youth mental health to the team**:
- **Be part of our national strategic design team and work from where you live**
**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**
The Pae Ora legislation gives us the mandate and opportunity to create a system of commissioning that has the needs of whānau and communities at its heart. In this new model, we are not ‘commissioners' holding the power. We are Te Tiriti o Waitangi partners and allies, we are listeners of diverse voices, we are holders of the space for communities and whānau to lead. We are a team of teams who live within and reflect the communities we serve.
The system design manager is a key strategic leadership role tasked with leading the system redesign for infant, child and youth mental health and addiction services in Aotearoa NZ.
You will lead this transformation by collaborating with the strategic design network, comprising of key people and leaders from the child and youth mental health and addiction sector, alongside other key stakeholders including Te Aka Whai Ora, national and regional commissioning teams, Māori, and the wider sector.
This is an opportunity to evaluate and reimagine how infant, child and youth services are funded and delivered to ensure they:
- Meet Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations
- Deliver equitable access and health outcomes
- Remain viable and sustainable
As a strategic, systems thinker and a problem solver, you will drive the re-design efforts and support enhancement of existing programmes of work.
- You will have a key role in setting up and contributing to the strategic design network for infant, child and youth mental health services.
- You will be involved in stakeholder mapping to create a stocktake report on existing services to define key challenges and opportunities.
- You will work to define an understanding of child and youth services within Te Whatu Ora regions across the full continuum of care, to assist in determining future service and funding need.
- You will be instrumental in creating a strategic road map and implementation plan for the system redesign of the infant, child and youth mental in partnership with the strategic design network.
- You will lead the development of national service specifications for key services to support improved national consistency. Regional commissioning teams are then enabled to utilise this detail to tailor solutions within their localities to meet the needs of their tamariki, rangatahi and whānau.
- You will also contribute within the infant, child and youth team with the existing programmes of work, monitoring and supporting service providers and objectives.
**Ngā pūkenga me ngā weako | Skills and experience**
- Leading system and service design and implementation, including seeking lived experience and or whānau voice and aspirations.
- Subject matter expertise within infant, child and youth mental health and wellbeing.
- An understanding of commissioning frameworks.
- System thinking and problem solving that delivers collaborative, equity-based solutions.
- Developing, maintaining, and influencing relationships and partnerships across sectors and organisations including with Māori and Pacific Peoples groups.
- Development of high quality and timely strategies and initiatives across a large organisation.
**Nau mai, uru mai | Come and join us**
When you join us, you become part of transforming the health system. This is a once in a life-time change, which will touch the lives of everyone in Aotearoa for generations.
Our name, Te Whatu Ora, means ‘the weaving of wellness'. Whatu is the combining of people, resources, organisations, thoughts and actions for the betterment and wellbeing of all. Whatu is also a direct reference to the pupil of the eye, and the vision required of the new entity and system.
We are working towards a system that better meets the complex demands of a growing population, addresses the persistent inequalities experienced by Māori and ensures improved access, experience and outcomes for those traditionally not well served by the system - Māori, Pacific and Disabled People.
**Tō mātou whakahaere ki te tika, te rerekētanga, me te whai wāhi mai | Our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion**
**Me pēhea te tuku tono | How to apply.
