**Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role**

RADS ( Rangatuhi Acute Day Service) is a day service that provides a safe therapeutic environment for adults ( person - s over 19 years ) who are experiencing an acute episode of mental illness and require monitoring and assessment. Acute illness is always disruptive, especially if it involves a hospital admission, RADS is designed to minimise this disruption for those people who can be treated utilising day services rather than inpatient admission.

The goal of RADS is to implement a recovery model providing a brief therapeutic intervention which is culturally safe and equitable for people who need mental health support within Wellington area.

**Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team**

We work in collaboration with Community Case Managers, with the service run by Registered Nurses and is open every day from 0800hrs - 1630hrs including Public Holidays. The reason RADS operates everyday throughout the year, so that there is consistent support for people who need an alternative to respite, or treatment monitoring over the weekends and public holidays while all other community teams and facilities are not available.

**Moū - About you**

We are looking for a Registered Nurse who is recovery focused in mental health and is willing to undertake a number of roles from problem solving to helping clients find a purpose in their day. You will need a good sense of humour, a current annual practising certificate and an extensive knowledge of mental and physical health. A proven work record in a mental health setting is an advantage.
