The Enterprise Architect is a key role in enabling the Ministry to deliver on its strategic and operational outcomes. It is a major contributor in the definition of enterprise solutions for the Ministry that meet the business and sector needs and complies with the Government standards, Ministry's standards, technology governance, and guidelines.

**The key facets of the role are**:

- Lead and contribute to the formation and implementation of the enterprise architecture, methodology and standards for the Ministry of Justice.
- Lead the adoption and implementation of architecture and continuous improvement frameworks.
- Inform the long term investment planning and asset planning process.
- Ensure enterprise architecture practices advance strategic objectives.
- Keep current with global digital trends in ensuring appropriate and current technology solutions are applied to the business.
- Work closely with the architecture practice to support the development of digital products and services.

It is an exciting time to join the Digital team here at the Ministry. Our newly established operating model is truly customer centric and service-based, driven by the need for continuous improvement and maintenance throughout the service lifecycle.
As part of the establishment of our new model we are looking for an Enterprise Architect to join the Digital Strategy and Performance Team. This is a critical role as you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of the enterprise architecture for the Ministry of Justice.
You will be a proactive member of the Chief Digital Officer's wider leadership team and as such will have the opportunity to jointly build a positive Digital culture that motivates and empowers Digital to be a high performing unified team.

He pūkenga tou/ Skills and Experience
- Tertiary degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience; and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Relevant industry or technical qualifications and / or certifications.

You will have Enterprise Architecture experience in large and complex organisations, including:

- Advising executive leaders and their teams for effective technology decision making.
- Analysing complex information to enable strategic decision making.
- Providing ICT architecture leadership and advice that is pragmatic and future focused.
- Leading the development of enterprise architecture collaboratively and consultatively.
- Working as a strategic influencer across organisational business groups with varying unit goals but shared organisational goals.
- Able to build and maintain a range of effective business relationships within an organisation and a wide network of professional relationships across organisations.
- Sound understanding of All of Government ICT management principles and offerings.

We are the core group leading the delivery of the Digital Strategic Plan, working closely with the judiciary, iwi and our Ministry and sector partners to ensure Justice mahi is best supported, enabled and empowered by digital.
The Ministry of Justice is the only agency in New Zealand's public sector that works across all three arms of government: we work for the executive and the legislature, and we also support the independent judiciary.
Our work covers a wide range of key functions, including, but not limited to:

- Supporting the judiciary to deliver court services for the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, High Court, District Court, Specialist Courts and Tribunals.
- Leading the justice sector, working closely with the judiciary and our sector colleagues - New Zealand Police, Dept of Corrections, Crown Law and the Serious Fraud Office.
- Negotiating historical Treaty of Waitangi claims, building positive and durable settlements between the Crown and Māori.
- Providing legal help and administer legal aid for those who can't afford a lawyer.
