The
Endocrinology and Steroid Section offers an extensive portfolio of tests for a
sexual differentiation disorders and other endocrine disorders. The
laboratory is well equipped with the latest technology and has established
national and international research collaborations.
We
have an exciting opportunity for you to supervise and perform the measurement
of hormones and related substances using both manual and automated
immune-assays.
In
**this role, you will be also be responsible for**:
- Assess Quality Control data and authorize assay test reports
- Supervise the storage, use and disposal of radio isotopes in the
laboratory
- Work together with Scientists and Clinicians
from Te Whatu Ora to consider and introduce new tests, with a special focus on
the use of LC/MS techniquesNgā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
Essential
- BMLSc experience in Biochemistry and/or Immunoassay, coupled with
an Annual Practicing Certificate issued by the NZ Medical Sciences Council.
- Recent graduates are encouraged to applyDesirable.
- Experience with immunoassay of steroid or peptide hormones
- Experience with Mass spectrometry techniques is desirable.This
is a fantastic opportunity for you to be part of the ongoing review of all
tests performed in this laboratory and maintain current documentation for the
tests allocated for your responsibility.
You
will also participate as a working member of the Endolab Quality Group [EQG] to
maintain accreditation to ISO 15189 and be an active member of the EQG to meet
weekly and review annually the services provided by Endolab.
At
Endolab, we believe in teamwork and collaboration, and you will work together
with scientists and clinicians from Te Whatu Ora Health NZ to consider and
introduce new tests, with a special focus on the use of LC/MS techniques. You
will also introduce new techniques for new and existing hormones to provide
improved accuracy of results.
