We are looking for a Contracts and Procurement specialist This varied fixed term role, based in our new Hamilton office, will provide specialist support with a particular focus on the procurement and execution of the Resource Use Directorate contracts.

**Mō te tūranga | About the role**

This is a great opportunity to work within the regulatory and planning functions of Council’s Resource Use Directorate. Working as a contracts and procurement specialist your work will focus on supporting directorate staff in undertaking procurement and contract processes that are essential to carrying out our regulatory and planning functions. Core responsibilities include:

- Providing support to directorate staff on all aspects of contract management and procurement processes including supplier selection and engagement, financials/budgets, contract compliance and contract closures.
- Assist with development, review and execution of systems and processes that ensure and monitor contract compliance.
- Liaise with Council’s Legal Services team and external legal providers regarding directorate contracts as required.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of corporate level procurement contracts and procurement process and documentation.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with relevant legislative, statutory plans and industry standards.

You will have the support of a professional team of varying skillsets and expertise across the Regional Consents Section, while helping support their work with their consenting and monitoring functions and also providing support to the Regional Compliance and Primary Industry Engagement Sections as needed.

- At least 3-4 years’ experience in contract and procurement management as well as process management.
