- a high level of comfort with ambiguity
- use strategic thinking to identify what is important for the work area in the medium and long term and system thinking to see issues in the wider context
- understand and can select, adapt and use a range of up-to-date frameworks, principles, tools and methods
- use advanced critical thinking, reasoning and judgement to identify issues and develop options
- critically use evidence and information from multiple and diverse sources
- lead and manage projects effectively
- use a range of oral, written and visual mediums to communicate effectively in diverse situations
- experience or training in urban, spatial and/or infrastructure planning.
