With online shopping continuing to grow, we are busier than ever & NZ Post needs extra capacity to process parcels efficiently for our customers. To support this growth, we are building new processing centres nationwide, equipped with the latest automation sorting systems, to help us efficiently deliver what New Zealanders care about.
Our Southern Operations Centre (SOC) will be renamed Christchurch Processing Centre (CPC) later this year with the go live of new automation equipment on site as part of NZ Post's Te Iho programme (parcel growth strategy). We need great, skilled people to join us on our growth journey, so it is a really exciting time to join

We currently have 6 x Floor Manager roles available in our new CPC, as follows;
Floor Manager AM x 1
Monday to Friday 10:00pm - 6:30am

Floor Manager Day x 2
Monday to Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm
Monday to Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm

Floor Manager PM x 3
Sunday 2:00pm - 10:30pm and Monday to Thursday 3:00pm - 11:30pm
Monday to Friday 5:30pm - 2:00am
Monday to Friday 5:30pm - 2:00am

What does the role do?
As the Floor Manager you will provide support to the Operations Leader in managing the freight processing operations to its optimal efficiency by using the automated sorter. This role will require time on the processing floor and will be responsible along with the Operations Manager, in implementing and managing the agreed operational plan, ensuring productivity and service targets are met.
- Leading by example with Safety and Wellbeing ; growing a culture that ensures a ‘Safety Always' principle in all aspects of day-to-day operations.
- People leadership functions including recruiting, rostering, payroll management, performance management, coaching and development, and coordination of training.
- Lead the processing team on the shift they are responsible for
- Ensuring production plans are delivered/meeting the expected productivity and service targets

Who are we looking for?
We're looking for people with supervisory experience in the processing/manufacturing and logistics environment. You will have a knack for managing people in conjunction with ensuring the smooth production. This is a role for operational folk, who enjoy planning / analytical thinking, along with strong people relationship management skills.
