We are looking for a Steel Fabricator to join the McConnell Dowell family to work within our
- _ _Mechanical Division team in Auckland.
- The Steel Fabricator will be based at the Auckland workshop and site work in the Auckland area as required with our operations, reporting to Mechanical Manager, you will:
- Perform fitting, welding and other fabrication duties as directed.
- Ensure safe work conditions are maintained at all times.
- Maintain and check all mechanical gear on site at the start of each shift.
- Ensure critical items of plant and equipment are 100% available when required.
- Assist production crew if and when needed.
- Ensure the efficient and effective operation of the welding equipment on site.
- Ensure that welding activities are performed to a high standard.

**What you'll need**
- Trades qualification relevant to welding and plant and equipment maintenance.
- Fabricator with experience in structural plate work and pipework
- Minimum of five years' experience relevant to the designated project and having previously held a Mechanical Fitter/Welder position.
- Sound working knowledge of HS&E requirements and implementing of same.
- Motivated to meet targets and schedules.
- Strong and clear verbal communication skills.
