Roadmarking Assistant

Our Roadmarking division is proud to be leading a range of projects maintaining and enhancing road markings on roads, bridges and pathways across New Zealand. We currently require a reliable and motivated Roadmarking Assistant to help us deliver these assignments, based out of our Hamilton depot.

**About the job**:
You will primarily support our road marking crew of category A or category B Type Operators who carry out long-life marking and reflective pavement marking (RPM) installation. You will also conduct STMS duties including site setup, maintaining traffic control, plating and other maintenance work as assigned.

You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe use of materials, supplies and equipment. Supporting the Downer Zero Harm culture, you will implement and adhere to H&S policies and procedures. You will also maintain positive relationships with customers, crews and the general public.

The role requires both night and day shift work, so the ability and willingness to work on a roster is essential.

**About you**:
You will be a team player who is motivated by achieving goals collectively. We’re seeking someone with the willingness to commit to on-the-job learning and training opportunities. You will also have:

- Full Class 1 New Zealand Drivers Licence
- Experience in or a keen interest in civil construction & roading
- STMS L1 Certification (beneficial)
- The ability to stay calm under pressure with good problem-solving skills
- Have excellent verbal and written language skills and have the confidence to put forward ideas for productivity and quality improvements
