Mō tēnei tūranga | About this role
You will oversee the team responsible for performance, risk and issue reporting, using the three lines of defence model. Provide assurance advice to Senior Leadership and support the achievement of risk and performance related outcomes.
- Develop, implement and maintain the right risk and performance frameworks, capabilities and systems to support operational compliance.
- Take responsibility for assessing and growing organisational risk maturity, as well as a comprehensive risk register, across emerging issues and risks.
- Oversee performance measures, organisational strategy and reporting, focussed on strategic outcomes of organisation wide changes.
- Compliance reporting for the Ministry against finance, legal and people processes.
- Leading the development and delivery of performance monitoring and frameworks
- Give effect to the Ministry's purpose and operating model, supporting and enabling Te Mahau

Mōhou ake | About you
To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience in people and operational leadership, as well as a track record in organisational risk management at a high-level.

**You will also demonstrate**:

- Sound knowledge of government and public sector processes
- A strong ability to create and maintain relationships across teams within the public sector.
- Extensive knowledge of the three lines of defence risk model, with experience leading a team in this space, of advantage.

Mātau rōpū ake | About our ministry, group, and team
At Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga, we work to provide services and support nationally, regionally and locally to the education sector, and in some cases, directly to ākonga and whanau. To better deliver on this, we are currently undergoing an organisational design change. The transition phase to improve the way we deliver our purpose will be complete in 2023.
