**Salary**: $68,371 ' $85,992 pro rata
Kōrero mō te tūranga ' About the role
This is a part time, permanent position working in the Women's Health and Maternity inpatient services with patients aged 16 years and above. The successful applicant will complete psycho social assessments with woman and their whānau during the ante and post-natal period. Assessments will have a focus on the wellbeing and safety of their pēpi. Liaison with external agencies is required to establish plans of support and safety for the patients and their whānau. Close working relationships are needed with the other multi-disciplinary team in the service to facilitate a smooth discharge from hospital. Other aspects of the role include working with whānau whose pēpi are born prematurely and admitted to the Neo Natal Unit, working with woman admitted to hospital for gynaecological treatment and covering the Women's Health Assessment Service and attending the Maternal Wellbeing and Care hui.
The role covers into other areas of the hospital as needed and will provide social work on Saturday's across inpatient services on a roster basis about 3 - 4 times per year receiving penal pay rates.

We are a diverse and inclusive team of 22 social workers who provide a service to patients and their whānau across inpatient, outpatient and community settings. Moū ' About you
The successful applicant will be able to work in situations where Family Violence is occurring, particularly Intimate Partner Violence and Child Protection. In these situations the social worker will undertake a risk assessment and safety plan utilising informal and formal supports to address these concerns.
The successful applicant will have the following skills and attributes:

- NZ Registered Social Worker with current annual practicing certificate
- 3 years social work practice and preferably with 2 years within the health setting. Those with no health social work experience will be considered
- The ability to complete psychosocial needs assessment
- Navigating and working within the legal requirements of health care and social work
- A clear understanding of the health needs of Māori and Pacific Island communities
- Therapeutic social work counselling experience (desirable)
- Previous work in a health setting and a good understanding of health social work (desirable)E pā ana ki a tatou ' About us
