We’re seeking an experienced Asphalt Quality Manager to join our Bay of Plenty surfacing team to lead and develop quality systems across our asphalt laying business. This role will have an impact both in the field, working with our asphalt laying crews to improve methodologies and ensure best practice techniques are used, as well as in the office improving on quality systems and streamlining quality reporting for our clients. A strong knowledge and understanding of asphalt laying as well as the compliance requirements of NZTA M/10 Specification is therefore critical for this role.

Your strong communication skills will also be vital in building relationships with key stakeholders and implementing effective process enhancements. There is some flexibility in the operational hours for this role however if you have worked in this industry before then you will know that most of this work happens a night and therefore there will be some requirement to work outside of standard business hours. In the future the role could also be adapted to part time if desired once systems and processes are imbedded in the business.

In addition to the above you will:
- Conduct regular inspections and testing of asphalt materials and finished products.- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to align on quality expectations.- Address any quality issues promptly and communicate resolutions to relevant stakeholders.- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.

- Proven experience in asphalt laying and quality management in line with NZTA M/10.- Strong leadership skills with a track record of developing and mentoring field staff.- Ability to implement and manage process improvements effectively.- High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering exceptional quality results.
