Head of Financial Economic Crime

A rewarding opportunity has arisen for a Head of Financial and Economic Crime. The role provides leadership to a small and highly capable team, and takes responsibility for driving strategy to identify, mitigate and manage Rabobank NZ’s exposure to FEC related risks, through embedding a robust framework and control environment.
In this role you will provide in-depth technical knowledge and expertise in relation to FEC compliance requirements, driven from local legislation and Group Policy requirements (based on European and Global legislation). The role covers the regulatory areas of:
- Anti-Money Laundering/Counter Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT)
- Sanctions
- Comprehension of anti-bribery and corruption legislation is also desirable.
Your expertise will include:
- Significant (c. 10 years) solid Compliance and/or Risk Management experience gained within the Financial Services Industry
- Demonstrated expertise in risk and control practices
- In depth working knowledge of FEC compliance requirements in the NZ financial sector
- Solid understanding of NZ regulatory environment and requirements
- Knowledge of US, EU, and Au sanctions regimes
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and ability to collaborate well with the business
- Strong leadership skills, including experience managing a team
- Industry body membership (e.g. CAMS)
- Qualification in Commerce/ Economics/ Business/ Law or equivalent
