Payroll Specialist

We are looking for an exceptional part time Payroll Specialist to assist us on a short fixed-term contract. This position has a minimum requirement of 22 hours per week, located at our Mahunga Drive, Mangere premises. Would suit someone who is seeking to work school hours as we are flexible with how the working week is structured. This role reports to the HR Manager and will be responsible for providing accurate payroll services and coordinating the payroll function for the business.

**Key responsibilities and accountabilities of this role include, but are not limited to**:

- Full end-to-end processing payroll on a weekly and fortnightly basis and completing GL reconciliations.
- Maintaining appropriate support and documentation for all payroll transactions.
- Supporting internal stakeholders with regular and ad hoc reporting and information requests.
- Keeping the alignment between the payroll and GL systems.
- System administration for all people-related systems, including Time & Attendance system, HRIS, and payroll systems.
- HR & payroll-related administrative tasks.
- First point of contact for all payroll and system-related queries.
- Keep up to date with all NZ payroll legislation and changes to ensure the continued accuracy of the company processes and procedures.

**To be successful **in this role, you require the following skills, knowledge and experience**:

- End to end experience with Payroll systems and processes.
- An excellent knowledge of Payroll legislation (i.e. Holiday Act 2003) while also understanding the business needs.
- Knowledge of the MYOB/Datacom system would be an advantage.
- Experience in working with technology and strength in this field would be an advantage. Exposure to Microsoft suite of office products (Excel, World, PowerPoint, and Outlook) necessary, with experience in working with HRIS systems/ software highly desirable.
- Knowledge of HR processes.
- A high level of accuracy and excellent attention to detail.
- Independent problem solver.
- Ability to manage competing deadlines and conflicting priorities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills at all levels.
- Ability to challenge the status quo and come up with new solutions and ways of working.
- Demonstrated ability to train others.
