**Mō te tūnga | About the role**
New Zealand Police are on the lookout for multiple **VIS Officers** to support a pilot initiative. These roles are full time, fixed term to 31 January 2026 (expected start 13 January 2025).
Reporting to the VIS Team Lead, these roles will have direct engagement with Victims of Crime to support them in providing a Victim Impact Statement for the judicial process.
These roles are based within Police’s Prosecutions Uplift Programme, which has been established to help clear the court backlog as well as improving the victims voice to meet judicial expectations and helping in improving court timeliness.
You will be part of a small team, supporting a specific Police District identified for this pilot.**
**Key Accountabilities**:
- Previous New Zealand Police, Justice or Victim Support experience would be advantageous.
- Able to demonstrate empathy to support Victims providing information for this specific purpose.
- Able to demonstrate confidence in engaging in conversation with anyone.
- Have a high attention to detail: with good written, phone and time management skills.
- Contribute towards a high performing team, to help achieve Our Business.
- Shift work covering 0700-2100 Monday to Friday (excluding Public Holidays).
Remote working will be considered - dependent on the necessary skills, knowledge, and experience of the applicant.
