An exciting opportunity exists to join the Southern Region Intelligence team, based at Christchurch Women's Prison in a permanent full-time role. Reporting to the Manager Regional Intelligence, the Intelligence Officer role is part of a small team tasked to provide quality actionable intelligence to support our strategy, Hōkai Rangi and help to protect victims, prevent criminal activity and support staff safety.

To be successful in this role, you will have (or be willing to learn):
**Desirable**:

- A sound understanding of the principles and methodologies of the Intelligence Cycle and intelligence collection plans and processes
- The credibility, integrity and personality to establish and maintain strong relationships internal and external to the Department
- An inquisitive nature and people skills
- Motivated individual who possess a high level of self drive
- Experience in interviewing
- Knowledge of the legislation governing information collection, storage, dissemination and use.
- Ability to work in a team, being responsible for your own tasks and wider joint tasks
- Strong oral and written communications skills

**Essential**:

- Full New Zealand driver's licence is required as travel will be a requirement of this role.
- The successful applicant must obtain, and maintain, a Secret clearance.

Utu ā-tau | Salary
This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence at either $80,025 or $84,227 dependant on skills and experience relevant to the role.
