**The role and opportunity**
- We are excited to invite an Evaluation Specialist to support AgResearch to plan for, measure and communicate the impact of our research. As part of the Strategy and Communications Group, you’ll work collaboratively across the organisation to implement monitoring, evaluation, reflection and learning at the research programme level. You’ll support the collection of quantitative and qualitative data to demonstrate progress towards outcomes and impact.
- Working closely with AgResearch’s Business Analysts, this role also supports ex - ante and ex - post impact evaluations of specific research areas. You’ll bring a knowledge of evaluative approaches to support insights and decision making.
- You’ll have a major role in championing a focus on impact within the organisation, and building evaluative capacity in monitoring, evaluation, reflection and learning. This is a permanent full-time role which can be based at any of our four main campuses (Hamilton, Palmerston North, Lincoln or Mosgiel).

**Your ideal background**
- Post-graduate qualification in social science or evaluation OR bachelor’s degree with 5+ years’ experience in evaluation.
- Demonstrated experience in evaluation, including the ability to run evaluation activities in large research programmes.
- Experience in designing and facilitating participatory group processes.
- Experience in evaluative capacity building highly desirable.
- Knowledge of indigenous evaluation and engagement frameworks.
- Experience in the agricultural, horticultural or science sectors an advantage.-.
