Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
We are looking for an early to mid-career Geospatial Specialist to join our team on a fixed term basis from 1 July. This fixed term position is expected to be 8 months. This position requires experience dealing with large (national level) datasets and their management, providing internal and public facing geospatial support. Having knowledge of the LINZ Data Service (LDS) would be an advantage.
You will be working with and helping LDS customers, so a demonstrated ability to deal with both technical and non-technical customers would be a great skillset for you to bring.
The role sits within the wider Location Information Group, so you will be working with specialists in a range of spatial fields including Hydrography and Geodesy as well as specialists in national level datasets such as LiDAR, imagery and topographic data. We also provide support to the dissemination of LINZ property information via the LDS.

- Providing geospatial system expertise and support to users,

- An understanding of open data publishing processes,
- Demonstrated ability to provide internal and public facing geospatial support,
- Evaluating, investigating and developing new ideas to promote geospatial concepts,
- Assisting in administering LINZ's geospatial databases to support business needs,
- Experience within a geospatial or data related role,
- Experience in spatial databases and SQL, QGIS, ESRI, FME, IntraMaps and Python scripting would be ideal,
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas and information with a diverse audience.
**Qualifications**:
A degree in a Spatial Sciences or related field would be preferred.
**The salary range for this role is**: $76,000 - $90,000 per annum dependant on skills and experience.
