Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring
**Key requirements of the role include**:

- A relevant tertiary qualification in public policy, history, law, or other related field is essential
- Ability to help set strategy for the Policy function and drive the delivery of high-quality policy advice and results
- Willingness to travel within Aotearoa to fulfil the requirements of the role
- Demonstrated people management experience in leading high performing teams
- A policy background demonstrating well-developed analytical, strategic, and conceptual thinking skills
- Comprehensive understanding of the New Zealand State Sector and the machinery of government
- Experience in a position requiring political awareness and the ability to maintain a balanced perspective where there is a high degree of ambiguity, political sensitivity, and disparity of views among stakeholders
- Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices in particular; knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples' culture
