Our service and team are named Te Whare Hurihuri and we are an intensive rehabilitation service, based in south Auckland. Within our 12-bed, mixed-gender, residential service we work collaboratively to encourage tangata whaiora reach their goals and realise their potential.

**He kōrero mō te tūranga | The Role**

This role is for 1 **Kaiwhakamaereora / Mental Health Professional** to work with our Intensive Rehabilitation Service based in South Auckland. The role is 40 hours working on a roster system. The successful person will be one of four Mental Health Professionals in our service.

Our Mental Health Professionals are culturally aware and understand the needs of Māori and other cultures. You will facilitate clinical reviews and complete tasks such as personalised planning and implementation of actions towards goals developed in partnership with tangata whaiora. You will be taking the clinical lead in supporting our tangata whaiora towards their recovery, whilst also coaching and mentoring support staff to achieve great health outcomes for our tangata whaiora.

Working in a residential service as a Kaiwhakamahereora Hinengaro | Mental Health Professional can offer unique benefits, particularly for those who prefer to work in a stable and immersive environment, this allows for enhanced continuity of care in a residential setting, you have the opportunity to develop deep and meaningful connections with the tangata whaiora you support. Being present on-site allows you to build rapport, establish trust, and maintain consistent therapeutic relationships. This continuity of care can be highly beneficial for tangata whaiora, as it provides a sense of stability and fosters a safe space for their recovery journey.

**He kōrero mōu | About You**

We are looking for someone proactive, self-motivated, and driven to make a positive impact in the lives of individuals experiencing mental health challenges.

As a "driver," we are seeking an individual who can take initiative and lead by example. We value professionals who can identify areas for improvement, propose innovative solutions, and actively contribute to the development and enhancement of our services. Your ability to drive positive change and motivate others within the team will be instrumental in creating an empowering and dynamic work environment.

You will also have the following:

- Registration with a Professional Body covered by HCPA 2003 Act or Social Worker Registration Act 2003
- Relevant health care degree level qualification (e.g. Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Psychology)
- Current full Annual Practicing Certificate
- Health sector/social service sector or related experience, working effectively with individuals and family Whanau in a complex needs environment
- Ability to work with and without direct supervision
- Excellent English written and verbal communications skills

Desirable qualifications, experience and skills;
- Experience working in Mental Health & Addiction
- Knowledge of community resources and support networks
- Competency in profession-specific assessment and interventions.
