Role and Responsibilities
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Carpenter/Builder to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Reading and interpreting drawings, plans, and specifications.
Measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling timber and other materials.
Constructing, erecting, installing, renovating, and repairing wooden and other structures, fittings, and fixtures.
Installing flooring, wall cladding, windows, doors, and roofing components.
Using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Ensuring quality workmanship and compliance with building codes and health & safety standards.
Supervising and mentoring apprentices or labourers when required.
Minimum Requirements
At least two years of relevant work experience in carpentry or building.
Trade qualification in Carpentry (or equivalent overseas qualification) preferred but not essential.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, tools, and materials.
Good physical fitness and commitment to workplace safety.
Terms and Conditions
Pay Rate: NZD $29.66 – $35.00 per hour (depending on skills and experience).
Guaranteed Hours: Minimum of 30 hours per week.
Location: Waikato Region (occasional travel to nearby sites may be required).
Employment Agreement: Permanent, full-time position under a standard individual employment agreement.
