Network Manager

As the Network Manager, you will join the Journeys Operations team to monitor the performance of the road network, manage the transport corridor, and oversee the delivery of annual and forward works programmes.
You will act as the Network Owner for local road networks, overseeing maintenance, operations, and corridor management, while ensuring the timely delivery of annual, three-year, and ten-year works programmes.
In your role, you will provide the Contract Manager with technical support, particularly in the development of financial and monitoring reports, and assist the Asset Manager with the Gisborne Regional Transport Programme.
You will ensure that a safe, responsive, and sustainable land roading network is maintained and operated in the region.
You’ll recognise the importance of the role as a Treaty partner and understand how that underpins Gisborne District Council’s work.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee maintenance, operations and corridor management for local road networks.
Manage projects and contracts as required.
Take the lead in increasing the sense of pace of land transport activities, projects and programmes assigned to the position.
Develop and maintain effective professional relationships with staff, customers and stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements: Hold a relevant tertiary qualification, ideally in Civil Engineering.
Minimum of five years’ relevant experience in either civil works, project management or similar.
A valid full NZ driver’s licence.
Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to establish working relationships with people/organisations at all levels.
