As a Quantity Surveyor at Woodland Homes, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of our projects by meticulously managing costs, materials, and construction processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Determine construction methods, materials, and quality standards, and interpret specifications, drawings, plans, and procedures to ensure adherence to project requirements.
Organize and supervise site labor, coordinate the delivery of construction materials, plant, and equipment, and establish comprehensive programs for the efficient coordination of site activities.
Obtain soil and rock samples at various depths across sites, conduct tests to assess strength, compressibility, and other factors influencing soil and rock behavior under structural loads, and determine safe loading capacities.
Analyze architectural and engineering drawings and specifications to estimate total project costs, and prepare detailed cost plans and estimates to facilitate budgetary control.
Monitor design changes, evaluate their impact on costs, and negotiate variations to designs, ensuring accurate cost assessments and effective cost management throughout the project lifecycle.
Conduct structural analysis for both static and dynamic loads, design structures to ensure structural integrity, and prevent undesirable behaviors such as collapse, bending, twisting, or vibration.
Assess present and future travel flow patterns, considering population growth and changing needs, and design transportation systems including highways, railroads, urban transit, air transportation, and logistical supply systems.
Estimate and monitor construction costs from project feasibility to tender preparation, construction, and post-construction phases, ensuring cost efficiency and adherence to budgetary constraints. 

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and quality standards.
Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and construction plans.
Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to accurately estimate costs and assess project viability.
Advanced knowledge of structural analysis and design principles.
Familiarity with relevant software tools such as CAD, MS Excel, and quantity surveying software.
Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
Strong organizational and time management abilities, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
