The opportunity | Te arawātea As a Work Broker, you will play a crucial role in supporting people into employment by engaging with local employers and industries, identifying job opportunities and listing sustainable employment solutions for job seekers.
What you’ll be doing | Ko te mahi Proactively sourcing vacancies by cold calling, networking, and using your sales and marketing skills to uncover new opportunities for job seekers.
Profiling job seekers to match them with suitable roles, while building and maintaining professional relationships with both clients and employers.
Working closely with Case Managers and other Service Centre staff to support clients in their employment journey.
Leading recruitment efforts for both seasonal and permanent roles, as well as engaging with industries to support recruitment and training programmes.
Providing tailored employment solutions that benefit both job seekers and employers.
This is a fixed term opportunity to 30 June 2026 and is based in the Gore Service Centre.
What you’ll need to succeed | Ko tō āhua Proven experience in recruitment, sales, or a similar role where relationship‑building with employers is key.
A focus on results with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, job placement targets and an ability to navigate setbacks.
Confidence in cold calling, networking, and using technology to source employment opportunities.
The ability to identify job opportunities and know what strategies to use to engage employers considering the local labour market.
Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Flexibility to travel within the region to meet employers as required.
Please note – This role requires applicants to have a clean full New Zealand Driver Licence.

A salary band range from $79,200 – $95,873 with a realistic starting salary from $79,200 per annum.
Consideration will be given to the successful candidate’s individual relevant skills, experience, and other factors to determine the actual starting salary.
