Volunteer Engagement & Programme Support Manage two coordinators to recruit, onboard, and support a diverse range of programme makers. Ensure Fresh FM meets its Section 36(c) broadcasting obligations through relevant, community‑driven content. Develop ongoing training and pastoral care initiatives for Programme Makers. Maintain high programme satisfaction. Staff Management & Development Supervise and coach team members in organisational matters, including the Technical Operations Director, Motueka Coordinator and Programme Development & Sponsorship Lead. Facilitate quarterly performance discussions and support professional growth. Financial & Funding Oversight Manage budgets in partnership with the accountant, including monthly variance reviews and reporting. Secure grant funding and manage relationships with funders and sponsors. Ensure all reporting obligations (including NZ On Air) are completed accurately and on time. Health & Safety, Insurance & Asset Management Oversee workplace health and safety and maintain compliance with relevant legislation. Manage insurance policies and renewals, ensuring appropriate coverage across all operations. Collaborate with the Technical Manager to develop and maintain an asset management plan for all technical and broadcasting equipment. Community Engagement & Partnerships Build and sustain strong partnerships with community organisations, content creators, and sponsors. Champion storytelling and collaborative projects that enhance Fresh FM’s visibility and impact across Te Tauihu. Oversee website and social media performance, ensuring engagement metrics are tracked and acted upon. Foster transparent communication across teams and with the Board. Skills & Experience Essential Proven experience in management or leadership within a start‑up, business, community, creative, or not‑for‑profit environment. An understanding of the not‑for‑profit funding environment and grant application process. Strong organisational, financial, and people management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with digital tools (e.g. CRMs, cloud systems, social media platforms). Desirable Experience in competing for contestable funding. Understanding of the community media or broadcasting sector. Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and risk management. Familiarity with asset management planning. Personal Attributes Collaborative and values‑driven, with a passion for community connection. Strategic thinker who can balance vision with practical delivery. Culturally aware, inclusive, and committed to amplifying diverse voices. Adaptable, proactive, and resilient in managing competing priorities. Why Join Us? Fresh FM is a cornerstone of the creative and cultural landscape in Te Tauihu - and this role offers the opportunity to shape its next chapter. You’ll be leading a small but passionate team in an organisation with deep community roots, a 30-year legacy, and an exciting future. Studies show that women and people from under‑represented groups may not apply for a role unless they meet 100% of the criteria. If you’re excited about this role and believe you have the skills or transferable experience, but don’t tick every box, we encourage you to apply – we’d love to hear from you. #J-18808-Ljbffr
