Automotive Electrician

PRIME AUTO CENTRE 2016 LIMITED is a trusted automotive service and repair business with a reputation for technical expertise and customer service.
We provide high-quality electrical diagnostics, repair, and installations for a range of vehicles including cars, commercial fleets, and machinery. We are currently seeking a skilled Automotive Electrician to join our growing team.
Key Responsibilities:● Use diagnostic and test equipment to locate electrical and electronic faults in vehicles● Dismantle and remove faulty electrical and electronic assemblies and components● Install new electrical equipment and electronic components in motor vehicles● Connect power-operated vehicle equipment and accessories to appropriate power supplies● Adjust engine control systems and electronic timing for optimal performance● Test, repair, or replace defective alternators, generators, voltage regulators, and starter motors● Repair and replace faulty ignition systems and damaged or worn electrical wiring● Replace defective parts including fuses, lamps, switches, and relays● Ensure all work is carried out to manufacturer standards and safety regulations
Skills and Experience Required:● Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience as an automotive electrician● Experience working with both modern vehicle electronics and traditional wiring systems● Attention to detail and strong troubleshooting skills● Ability to work independently and as part of a team● Valid NZ driver’s licence preferred Pay and Hours:● Pay rate: NZD $30.00 – $35.00 per hour, depending on experience● Minimum guaranteed hours: 30 hours per week● Workdays: Monday to Saturday● Work hours: Between 8:00am and 5:00pm● Closing Date for Applications: 09/12/2025● Start Date (approx.): December/25 or ASAP Flexibility:● Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays as required. Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time   Application Instructions: ONLY APPLICANTS WHO ARE CURRENTLY IN NZ AND LEGALLY ALLOWED TO APPLY OR WITH VALID WORK VISA       Naturally you MUST BE drug free (test will apply) and have a great work ethic.
