Portfolio Lead - Performance Monitoring, Appointments, Nominations & Secretariat Services Job Title: Portfolio Leads x3 - Statutory Entities and Appointments Team Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Te Puni Kōkiri, the Ministry for Māori Development, is seeking 3 experienced, talented and motivated Portfolio Leads to join our Statutory Entities and Appointments team in Wellington.
Reporting to the Manager, Statutory Entities and Appointments, these roles are pivotal in supporting the Crown's relationship with Māori through effective governance, performance oversight, and secretariat services.
Find more about each role here: Portfolio Lead, Appointments - will lead the appointments workstream for Te Puni Kōkiri to ensure the provision of high-quality advice and appointments process-support to assist the Minister for Māori Development when making or recommending appointments to the statutory entities they are responsible for.
This role is required to engage positively and supportively with the high-calibre individuals that our Minister will be seeking to appoint to across the full range of entities and boards within the portfolio.
Portfolio Lead, Nominations and Secretariat Services - will lead the nominations workstream for Te Puni Kōkiri to collaborate with stakeholders across the public sector to deliver the role of Te Puni Kokiri as a nominating agency.
This role is crucial to supporting other agencies to be able to put forward high quality governance role candidates from te ao Māori.
The twin focus for this role will also afford the opportunity to deliver professional secretariat support to advisory groups and governance bodies.
Portfolio Lead, Performance Monitoring - will lead the performance monitoring workstream for Te Puni Kōkiri and will take a hands-on approach to monitoring the diverse range of statutory entities within the Māori Development portfolio.
They will be responsible for the provision of analysis and reporting on entity performance, as well as provision of advice to entities and the Minister on ensuring entities are positioned to deliver strategically.
The ability to read a balance sheet and prepare budget bids will go hand in hand with the necessary relationship management skills to engage with entity management from time to time.
These roles offer a unique opportunity to influence Māori development and Crown-Māori relations through strategic leadership and operational excellence.
Appointable salary range between $133,248 - $166,560 (100%) will commensurate with skills and experience.
The roles are on a salary band $133,248 (90%) - $183,216 (110%)Ko wai koe - About you To be successful, you will have proven experience leading appointments or secretariat services or performance monitoring functions.
You will be a great communicator with an ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and have a clear understanding of statutory bodies and other public roles appointments.
You will have experience providing advice to ministers and executive leadership.
An understanding of Te Ao Māori, tikanga, and the Crown's obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
The ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment while managing competing priorities.
A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience is preferred.
