The Machine Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring production machinery to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing outcomes. The role also contributes to continuous improvement of processes and equipment. Reports to: Manufacturing Manager Hours of work: Minimum 30 hours per week (Monday- Thursday; shift work required) Key Responsibilities Set up, calibrate, and prepare production machines for daily operation Operate machinery and adjust settings to maintain optimal performance Load raw materials and ensure continuous, efficient production flow Monitor machine operation and inspect finished products to ensure quality standards are met Conduct regular quality checks and record production data accurately Troubleshoot minor machine faults and report recurring or major issues Assist with routine machine maintenance and cleaning Identify and suggest improvements to equipment, workflow, and product quality Follow all workplace health and safety procedures Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment Skills and Attributes Strong mechanical aptitude and confidence working with industrial machinery High attention to detail and commitment to quality standards Ability to work independently and as part of a team Proactive attitude with a focus on continuous improvement Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused Basic computer skills for recording production and quality data Qualifications & Experience Minimum of 1 year relevant work experience as a Machine Operator or in a similar manufacturing or production environment No formal qualifications required; on-the-job training will be provided Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is an advantage
