Wellington, Wellington, New Zealand Aon Full time
Aon is in the business of better decisions.

At Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world.

As an organization, we are united through trust as one inclusive, diverse team, and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.

The Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity to leverage your expertise in fire protection systems, contribute to a specialist business unit, and make a significant impact on client safety and satisfaction. You will be responsible for professionally inspecting fire sprinkler, alarm, and hydrant systems, ensuring compliance with building codes and Aon's high standards.

What Will a Day Look Like?

Your day will be varied and engaging. You will spend a significant portion of your time on-site, inspecting fire protection systems in diverse locations. This involves meticulous examination of new and existing installations, comparing them against building consent provisions and compliance schedules. You'll work closely with clients, identifying potential issues proactively and providing practical solutions. You'll also dedicate time to administrative tasks, reporting, and collaborating with internal teams.

How This Opportunity Is Different

Aon's Fire Inspections Team offers a unique approach: we provide practical, not prescriptive, solutions. This means you'll be empowered to use your judgment and experience to guide clients, offering tailored advice rather than simply enforcing regulations. You'll be part of a supportive team within a larger, globally recognized organization, providing opportunities for professional development and growth.

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a candidate with:
  • Qualifications: National Certificate in Fire Protection Systems & Technology (Inspection & Testing) Level 4.
  • Experience: 1 or more years working as a Fire Systems Inspector; or 5 or more years' supervision of sprinkler system installations; 3 or more years designing sprinkler systems.
  • Skills: Strong communication (written and verbal), time management, organizational, and client relationship-building skills; Microsoft Office competency; experience with fire protection standards.
  • Behaviours: High personal motivation, strong work ethic, adaptability, resilience, flexibility, and a commitment to continuous learning.
  • Knowledge: Industry experience in the design or installation of fire protection systems is highly desirable.
How We Support Our Colleagues

In addition to our comprehensive benefits package, we encourage a diverse workforce. Plus, our agile, inclusive environment allows you to manage your wellbeing and work/life balance, ensuring you can be your best self at Aon.

Furthermore, all colleagues enjoy two "Global Wellbeing Days" each year, encouraging you to take time to focus on yourself. We offer a variety of working style solutions, but we also recognize that flexibility goes beyond just the place of work... and we are all for it. We call this Smart Working

Our continuous learning culture inspires and equips you to learn, share, and grow, helping you achieve your fullest potential. As a result, at Aon, you are more connected, more relevant, and more valued.

Aon values an innovative, diverse workplace where all colleagues feel empowered to be their authentic selves. Aon is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.

Aon provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to sex, marital status, religious belief, ethical belief, colour, race and ethnic or national origin, disability, age, political opinion, employment status, family status, sexual orientation, or other legally protected status.

We welcome applications from all and provide individuals with disabilities with reasonable adjustments to participate in the job application, interview process, and to perform essential job functions once onboard. If you would like to learn more about the reasonable accommodations we provide, email ReasonableAccommodations@Aon.com.
