Our client, a leading organization committed to building a better city every day, is seeking a Senior Building Inspector to join their Environment & Sustainability Group. As a Senior Building Inspector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring fire egress, accessibility, and building safety to create a sustainable and safer city for our communities.
About the Role:
In this position, you will be responsible for conducting building and plumbing inspections in accordance with relevant regulations and standards. You’ll be a part of a dedicated team, working closely with stakeholders, including architects, designers, builders, and regulatory authorities, to uphold high-quality building practices and ensure compliance with the Building Act 2004 and related legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients, making it easy for them to engage with our organization.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to address building-related issues.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure statutory information is filed correctly.
- Skills, Knowledge & Behaviours:

Qualifications & Experience:
- A qualification in building, a trade, architecture, or building science degree, meeting Regulation 18 requirements.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Competency level of Commercial 2 in the preferred discipline.
- Experience in training and reviewing the work of building officers.
- Preferred experience in both building consenting and inspections.
