As a member of the Spark Managed Network team, your daily activities will include:

Design

· Independently perform assignments in the design, detailed configuration, integration and support of existing and future technologies within assigned technical area of expertise.

· Perform problem diagnosis, initiate problem resolution and provide ongoing life-cycle support for technology deployments and upgrades.

Delivery & Documentation

· Maintain and improve data centre environments.

· Create and maintain detailed design documents, diagrams, engineering specifications, configuration, technical implementation plans, troubleshooting and support guides, systems metrics and overall project information.

· Ensure that build activities are completed per engineering diagrams and in alignment with architecture and security standards.

Leadership and Partnerships

· Manage effective relationships and work in partnership with leadership, team members, vendors, and contractors to deliver robust technical solutions that are stable, secure, scalable and manageable.

· Provide technical subject matter expertise in designing and implementing stable, secure and manageable solutions.

Project Support

· Utilize performance data and historical metrics to effectively: plan for growth, plan upgrades, migrations, optimizations and new implementations; identify and resolve efficiency issues; and improve overall functionality.

· Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.

What experience you'll bring?

Extensive experience in a hands-on network design environment gained in an ISP, telco or major enterprise environment.

· Experience working in a data centre.

· A minimum of 10 years in the IT Network Infrastructure field, focusing on design and operations.

· Strong understanding of IT operations and project engineering.

Technical Skills

· Experience working in a data centre.

· Arbor, Allot.

· Cisco ISE.

· Cisco Nexus Dashboard, Cisco SNTC, Cisco CX Cloud.

· Cisco Smart Software Manager, Cisco Common Service Platform Collector.

· OSPF, BGP, MPLS, L3VPN/L2VPN, Spanning-Tree, VPC, FHRP/HSRP.

· Nexus switches, ASR Routers, Arista switches.

· Solarwinds.

· Fortigate/Fortiswitches/Forti-Authenticator.

· Spine and Leaf Technology / NDFC.

· Github and Gitlab.

· Relevant qualification in related field. CCNP, CCDP etc. CCIE advantageous.

· Proven analytical ability and problem-solving skills.

· Effective Communication - proven presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal.

· Conversant in best practice appropriate to network design and security.

· Understanding hardware and software performance and scaling limitations.

· Scripting skills advantageous.

· Ability to balance the "big picture" and short-term implications of individual decisions.
