Mō te tūranga | About the role

HDC is seeking a Group Manager Communications & Corporate Services, reporting to the Chief Executive. As a member of HDC's Executive Leadership Team, this critical role will lead strategic planning and manage operational delivery across Information & Technology, Health, Safety & Wellbeing, Iwi/Māori Liaison, and Democracy & Customer Experience services.

Tō Kōrero | About You

Working closely with the CEO, your group leader colleagues, and your team, you will bring the following attributes to this role:

  1. Strategic and operational acumen, ideally shaped in previous local authority settings or aligned sectors.
  2. An ability to develop and execute strategies that drive measurable results.
  3. Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, supported by your vision, and pragmatism.
  4. Senior leadership experience (10/15 yrs) with a record of delivery of ambitious goals.
  5. Demonstrated success in developing effective team culture, ensuring professional outcomes, accountability, and continuous improvement for all stakeholders.
  6. Comfortable in role modelling the culture and outcomes you seek of others.
  7. An understanding and commitment to Te Ao Māori and the principals of partnership.
