Taupo, New Zealand Taupo Full time

Location: Taupo, Central North Island
Reports to: Taupo Blue Light Committee/ Taupo Police Youth Aid Supervisor

Ready to make a real difference in your community?

Taupo Blue Light Ventures is looking for an energetic, proactive, and self-driven individual to join our team as a Branch Coordinator / Youth Mentor. If you're passionate about empowering youth, creating positive change, and working in a dynamic, hands-on role, this is your chance to shine

What's the role about?
As the Branch Coordinator, you'll be the heart and soul of our Taupo Blue Light team, managing everything from logistics and event planning to supporting youth programs and mentoring at-risk young people. You'll work closely with local police, schools, and community groups to ensure youth in the Taupo area are thriving, with a special focus on reducing youth offending.

You'll also have the opportunity to bring your own creativity to the role, running exciting events, fostering volunteer engagement, and supporting the delivery of meaningful programs.

What you'll do:

Coordinate & Create: Plan and manage awesome community programs and events, ensuring everything runs smoothly and everyone is excited to participate

  • Mentor & Empower: Support local youth through mentoring programs, helping them make positive life choices and avoid risky behaviour.
  • Lead the Charge: Recruit, organise, and lead an amazing team of volunteers who are just as passionate as you.
  • Crunch the Numbers: Keep track of budgets, financial records, and resources to make sure we're always on top of things.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with a supportive team of passionate people to create a positive impact, share ideas, and make a real difference in the Taupo community.

What we're looking for:

  • Self-Starter: You'll need to be someone who takes initiative and can work independently. We're looking for someone who's proactive and can manage their time without constant supervision.
  • Cultural Awareness: Understanding and respect for Te Ao Māori, and the ability to bring this cultural perspective into the work you do.
  • Strong Communicator: Whether you're talking to volunteers, youth, or community partners, you can clearly get your message across and inspire people to take action.
  • Youth Champion: You've got experience working with young people and a passion for supporting them to reach their full potential.
  • Event & Project Manager: You know how to juggle multiple tasks, stay organised, and bring great ideas to life.

Why join us?
At Taupo Blue Light, you'll be part of a team that's all about creating positive change for the youth in our community. This is your opportunity to take on a varied, rewarding role where no two days are the same. You'll help shape the future of Taupo's youth while gaining experience in leadership, event management, and community development.

If you're passionate, driven, and ready to be part of something impactful, we want to hear from you

Applications close 5pm on the 7th of April 2025.
