Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has an exciting opportunity for a property claims professional with experience in commercial property lines, specifically general property including business interruption. The role will report to the NZ Head of Claims and be based in our Auckland, NZ office.

We are seeking an individual who is intelligent, passionate and who is always striving towards excellence. This role will be a great opportunity for a claims professional to expand their scope of experience in a highly collaborative team environment dedicated to providing best in class claims service.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Managing a broad portfolio of claims and providing high levels of customer service and technical claims management with a proactive approach to achieving strong results for insureds.
  • Collaboration with the broader BHSI property team including risk engineering and underwriting on claims trends, portfolio development, policy wordings and risk issues, supporting #ClaimsIsOurProduct.
  • Being a market face of property claims for BHSI and working together with customers, brokers and vendors to drive claims to timely and appropriate solutions.
  • Providing input into the delivery of BHSI's plans, goals and objectives.
  • As needed, travel to customer/broker meetings, site inspections, mediations, conferences and other industry events.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years of a broad range of corporate/commercial property claim handling experience, including business interruption.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment.
