In this role you will be liaising with the Community Probation sites and AOD (Alcohol & Other Drugs) testing provider to book and coordinate tests. You will also support our Front Line staff by providing expert advice and guidance regarding AOD Testing.

The role accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitor and escalate Issues and trends to ensure appropriate follow up can be taken;
  • Provide high quality, accurate and timely advice in relation to drugs and alcohol to all stakeholders;
  • Provide factual information and procedural guidance to frontline staff related to AOD testing;
  • Monitor notifications and alerts to identify potential risks or trends and escalate promptly;
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the AOD testing practice and continuous improvement within the Department;
  • Work cooperatively with Probation Officers and other key stakeholders to report to and respond to instances of non-compliance;
  • Coordinate AOD testing with Community Corrections staff;
  • Support team members by ensuring they understand and meet procedural expectations, answer their questions within their area of knowledge, and provide them with coaching, ongoing development and learning opportunities, and monitor their progress and performance;
  • Record tests and maintain PC based databases including the ability to produce ad hoc reports as required.

About you and what you will bring to the role:

  • Experience in the use of computer systems and Microsoft Office products.
  • Good understanding of the requirement to maintain confidentiality of information and the requirements of the Privacy Act.
  • Demonstrated experience providing timely and accurate advice and guidance in a potentially high pressure/high risk environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret relevant legislation.
  • Ability to follow processes and procedures to work effectively.
  • Attention to detail in order to ensure accuracy of information.
  • Organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong relationship management skills.
  • Knowledge of Community Probation would be beneficial.

The salary range for this role is $58,367 - $64,938. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
